How to Make a Nosegay Bouquet
If your bouquet is made of multiple components, this method might be easier than the Hand-Tied method. To get started, you will need these materials: Floral Tape, a Vase slightly taller than your desired bouquet height & twine or twist ties
Make sure your vase is clean. Take the tape, and make a tick-tac-toe grid. The center point will hold the stems of your bouquet (you can also use chicken wire if its easier for you and available)
Start adding flowers to the center square
As you add your different flowers and greens, you can easily change positioning to get the exact placement you want
When you are done, lift the flowers out of the vase with both hands. Once out of the vase, transfer the bouquet to one hand
Use your free hand to use your free hand to wrap a twist-tie around the "cinch-point" or tie it with ribbon or twine. You can also tie the stems at the bottom to secure the arrangement further
Last, trim stems evenly at the bottom.
Depending on how early you prepare your bouquets, you may need to put them back in water. If you do, you may want to consider holding off wrapping the stems in ribbon. Alternately, you can also wrap the ribbon so the last couple inches of the stems are still exposed.
Use a ribbon that is 1 – 2” wide. If you are going to wrap the stems from top to bottom, cut a piece about 3 times the length of the stems, cut shorter if you are going to leave a portion of the stems exposed
Begin at the top, tuck a piece of the ribbon inside the stem to secure it
Wrap the ribbon down at a 45 degree angle
When you are satisfied with how far down you have gone, begin the reverse process of wrapping back up.
When you are back at the top you can secure the ribbon by tucking it under the stems or you can use corsage pins to secure it.
